No more missing things in contract review.
SquarePact is the AI agent that lives inside Word and reads contracts the way a careful lawyer does: every defined term, every cross-reference, every inconsistency. No file uploads. No formatting damage. No "did the AI miss something?"

Our View:
Accuracy > Speed
Generic AI tools like ChatGPT weren’t built for complex, real-world agreements. They sound confident, but they often get key details wrong (or even completely overlook them!) The harsh reality is that small mistakes can have massive consequences.
The thing is, techniques do exist to make AI tools much more accurate at contract review. Founders Dr. Licato and Dr. Nighojkar are AI researchers who are familiar with the latest advances in how to reduce hallucination. But most generalist systems (like ChatGPT) prefer speed and cheaper compute costs over accuracy.
I don't know about you, but when it comes to legal documents I much prefer the system take its time to get it right before it sends it back to me. Then my lawyer has a lot less work to do.
This is the approach we're taking with SquarePact.
We engineered it for one thing: precision you can trust.
Why generalist AI tools don't work for contracts.
The issues aren't minor. They're the same ones that have blocked AI adoption in legal tech for years.

Verifiable, citation-grounded findings
Every claim the agent makes is grounded in the actual document. When it flags an issue, it cites the exact section. Mechanical checks run as deterministic code, not LLM guesses — so coverage is exhaustive and the result is the same every time.
Government decisions are challenged. Reviewers need to defend not just the conclusion, but the process that produced it. SquarePact's outputs are reproducible and traceable to a specific clause — the kind of evidence that holds up in a protest hearing.
- Every finding cites its source location in the document
- Deterministic checks return the same result every run
- Reviewable, auditable trail for FOIA / public-records requests
Definition & cross-reference checks
Find every term used but never defined. Find every definition that's never referenced. Catch cross-reference mismatches, broken section numbering, and missing attachments — exhaustively, with no missed items, even on a 200-page RFP.
An undefined term or broken cross-reference in a published RFP isn't an inconvenience — it's a protest risk. Vendors use ambiguity to challenge awards, and public records make every error permanent.
- Catch "Attachment C" referenced but not attached
- Flag definitions that drift between sections
- Verify section numbering after late edits
Agency compliance checklists
Build reusable checklists for RFP issuance, contract award review, vendor response evaluation, or sole-source justifications. Run them with one click. The agent reports each item with the exact section that supports its finding.
Procurement compliance is repetitive and unforgiving. The same 40-item checklist runs against every solicitation, and one missed item can void an award. SquarePact runs that list the same way every time — and shows its work.
- Encode your agency's procurement code once, reuse everywhere
- Auditable trail of what was checked and what was found
- Defensible record for protest response
Clause & provision library
Save your agency's standard terms, mandatory flow-down clauses, and required provisions. Check incoming vendor documents against your standards in one click — the agent flags every conflict and proposes redlines that match your house style.
Different attorneys reviewing the same vendor template should reach the same redlines. SquarePact encodes your standards once so reviews are consistent across staff, departments, and turnover.
- Enforce mandatory clauses (insurance, indemnity, public records)
- Catch vendor edits to your standard terms automatically
- Train new procurement staff on agency-standard reviews
Step-by-step agent steering
Review the agent's plan before it acts. Approve each change individually. Stop or redirect at any step. The agent works inside Word — no separate application, no documents uploaded to a browser, no surprise edits.
Public-sector AI policies almost universally require meaningful human oversight. SquarePact is built around that requirement — every change is reviewed and approved by the human in the workflow, not by an autonomous loop.
- Satisfies "meaningful human review" policy language
- Every action is approvable, reversible, and auditable
- Staff retain accountability for the final document
Formatting preserved exactly
Every edit happens at the XML level inside the Word file itself. Numbering, styles, cross-references, headers, footers, track changes, and comments all come out exactly as they went in. No manual reformatting after an AI edit — ever.
In procurement, formatting is substantive. A broken numbering scheme, a lost defined-term style, or a stripped header can invalidate a published document or trigger a protest. Other AI tools strip formatting because they edit plain text. SquarePact doesn't.
- Section numbering, defined-term styles, TOCs survive every edit
- Track changes are preserved — no audit trail lost
- Headers, footers, and watermarks are untouched
Reviews
“SquarePact is unlike any tool I've used so far. It saves me a ton of time and gives me answers that I can trust...because it shows me exactly where it gets the answers from and links me right to that spot in the document.”

“SquarePact did a great job in evaluating my proposal, I wish I had it sooner! It provided detailed critiques and recommendations that were really helpful in thinking about how to strengthen my proposal. It went beyond a surface level critique and provided concrete points linked to specific proposal criteria. I can’t wait to use it for all of my future proposals!”
Julia Hoehn, Ph.D.

“This is amazing. I paid consultants thousands of dollars to create reports like this, and it took them weeks. Your product just did a better job in one hour, for a fraction of the cost.”

We understand the impact of bad AI. We’ve seen half-baked LLM wrappers give bad advice and fake citations. And we’ve personally experienced the pain of not being able to afford lawyers to review every draft of every contract.
SquarePact is the tool we wish we had: it predicts every objection/challenge (distilling 100+ years of experience) and gives you the right responses, fallback positions, and safer alternatives. It simulates the review process from multiple realistic perspectives so you can anticipate their objections before they have a chance to make them.
Our founding team has years of experience: Professor John Licato (legal AI expert, AI lab director, 100+ peer-reviewed papers), AI expert Dr. Animesh Nighojkar, and attorney Maria Burbridge. We know how to make sure AI works well, so you don't have to struggle with prompting or knowing the latest LLM model update.
Give SquarePact a try. We stand behind it, and we’ll work with you to ensure it is as valuable to you as it was to us. You have access to our team directly: reach out to us any time for help with the product, or to suggest features. We'll always respond!
